but they publish tome up on tome about how they need to defend her right to be obnoxious 

Pretty sure Beyonce’s all-female performances are just a superficial ‘girl power’ publicity stunt, and a lot of the musicians that work on her music are actually male but anyway. All-female performances are good, I’m just saying she’s being a bit disingenuous about it.
